Cotton Bayou is one of the busiest ramps in southern Baldwin County. During the spring and summer months, it is always crowded. The old, rusted ramps were removed, and new concrete ramps were built. The launch once featured a double-lane ramp on the east and a single-lane ramp on the west. The west ramp was enlarged, making both new ramps double-lane. Hudson Marina originated as a fishing charter marina. It has always been a family business. The harbor served private 6-pack charter fishermen who rented wet slips to conduct their business. A substantial portion of the marina was damaged and rebuilt during Hurricane Ivan. The 300-foot pier was built during this period. The new pier gave the little marina more room to expand. Eventually, they were able to include affordable rental services for Jet Skis, Wave Runners, and Pontoon Boats. That slowly bled into offering dolphin tours and pirate cruises.

Orinoco Cove "Mess About Marina"

Orinoco Cove is home to this posh marina. Homes in the region include shares and the right to deeded boat slips. The Marina has just 60 members, corresponding to the neighborhood’s 60 property owners. This marina is a tiny pier with eight temporary and nine fuel docks. Check-in hours are usually between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It’s a less popular marina than others in Baldwin, but it provides a more intimate setting for boaters to moor and rest. It’s an alternative option to the nearby Hudson Marina.
