In 2022 the City Council voted to go fully independent, and Orange Beach City Schools officially launched on July 1, 2022. City leaders said local control gives them more flexibility to tailor programs like dual enrollment, career tech, and the school calendar. The system now includes Orange Beach Elementary and Orange Beach Middle/High School. One tip: city schools serve the city, not the mailing address, so a home with an Orange Beach address outside city limits may be zoned differently.
