Neighborhoods in Foley, Alabama and Their Hidden Gems

This tiny coastal town of Elberta in Baldwin County, Alabama has a little bit of everything.

• One of the first places you’ll want to visit when you arrive in Elberta is the Baldwin County Heritage Museum.

• Pirates Cove Marina & Restaurant, which recently celebrated their 80th anniversary, is popular for its beautiful beachfront view.
• People come here for their scrumptious pizzas, burgers, salads, and sandwiches.

• Roadkill Cafe is a cozy little café that’s known for its chicken buffet, corn muffins, and soft serve ice cream.
• If you love homestyle cooking, you have to try this restaurant.

• Home Sweet Farm is the ultimate place for cheese lovers where you can find the freshest and most delicious natural handmade cow’s milk cheeses.
• Aside from being the first farmstead cheesemaker in Alabama, Home Sweet Farm also offers organic fruits, local honey, olives, and more.

• George W. Barber’s Barber Marina, spanning 800 acres on the peninsula between Wolf Bay and Ingram Bayou, is known for its eccentric sculptures.
• One of the most popular statues at the marina is the “Dinosaurs in the Woods” which consists of four life-sized dinosaur statues – a Brontosaurus, a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Stegosaurus, and a Triceratops.
• Another famous statue at Barber Marina is the “Bamahenge” – Alabama’s version of the Stonehenge in England which also measures 21 feet high and 104 feet across, and is aligned with the summer solstice.

• If you’re travelling with your family, you’ll want to rent a cabin at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
• There are several amenities that kids will love, including pool and splash pad, fishing pond, and theatre.
• The park also offers planned activities to add more fun to your stay, including character interactions, gem mining, and water wars.

Located at the intersections of major highways in central Baldwin County, the town of Silverhill, Alabama, is a friendly, vibrant, and historic community.

• The Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm is a private outdoor house concert held in a private home and the stage is under a 200 year old Cedar tree.
• The concerts are intimate and you need to be on the guest list. Out of towners may stay overnight, camping style.
• Patrons bring their own chairs and beverages and are encouraged to share in a communal covered-dish dinner.

• This quaint gift shop practically sells everything – local art, plants, pottery, dresses, jewelry, and home décor.
• They also serve a nice selection of coffee as well as a few other treats at their coffee shop.
• At the back is a beautiful, relaxing bamboo garden with alcoves of seating areas.

• Silverhill Furniture and Décor is located in a historic building which used to be the Silverhill Motor Company and Anderson Garage before it became an antique store.
• Here, you’ll find all sorts of furniture, art, lighting, china, kitchenware, toys, porcelain, some new decor and gifts, paint, paint supplies, pottery, and so much more.

Lillian is an unincorporated community that is centered around Perdido Bay’s bridge crossing. An unincorporated town does not have a council or board that governs it. Instead, it operates under the county’s regulations. In Lillian’s case, this is Baldwin County.

• Lillian Recreational Park is an idyllic park that spans over 17 acres.
• This park is described as “the best family destination in Lillian.”
• Park amenities include an figure 8 walking trail, a dog run, kiddie playground, T-ball, minor league and major league baseball fields, a basketball and pickleball court, a football and soccer field, and a Native Azalea Garden maintained by Tom Dodd Nurseries.
• A weekly Market-in-the-Park held every Saturday is a great time to find locally grown vegetables, handmade crafts, and many other local products in the area.

• This bar and grill restaurant is known for its delectable seafood, sandwiches, and burgers.
• Patrons come here for the Club Sandwich, Shrimp Po-Boy, Jumbo Wings, Lucky Dogg, and Nachos.
• Dine and dance as there is live music every day.

The town of Loxley is in the very heart of Baldwin County, Alabama. Loxley is the home of the county’s Strawberry Festival. It also the gateway to the area’s other prime destinations.

• Burris Farm Market is a family owned and operated farm and bakery.
• They sell the freshest fruits and vegetables, Burris Grown Strawberries are a must-buy; as well as plants, Conecuh sausage and bacon, and Apple Butter.
• Some of the crown favorites from their bakery that you should try – the Pecan Cobbler, Key Lime Pie, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Strawberry Pizza.
